The food is very delicious and authentic. The dishes are like homemade. We had the chicken adobo and lechon. The lechon is juicy and crispy.

If you are looking for taste of home, warmth and massive flavor bomb go no further! It has some of the most authentic Filipino dishes and the flavors are top notch. Icing on the cake is warmth of aunty Mina who cooks everything from scratch in her kitchen. I will be coming back for more !

My family and I have been going here for years, probably over a decade, for Filipino food and we love this small family-owned business. We regularly get food for the holidays around here. Some of our faves are their palabok (my mom loves and says unlike some other places here in the US, it tastes like the palabok she'e had in the Philippines), turon, and their camaron rebosado. Definitely a great neighborhood Filipino spot with wonderful staff.

The food is immaculate, the owner Mina and Litice (not sure how to spell). Gave us so many samples and the food was so good. Will 100% be coming back. They were so friendly, treated us like we were one of their own. The chicken lumpia was tasty, adobo, and some coconut chicken or pork not sure. But everything was flavorful.

Walked in without any expectation but was pleasantly greeted by no other than Auntie Leticia (sorry for the spelling) and Auntie Mina. Both had such a warm, inviting aura about them. Auntie Leticia spent majority of her time describing and recommending both her and customer's favorite dishes. She had to have given us approximately 6-7 things to try before we even ordered! The customer service is unmatched. I left the restaurant ordering many delicious items with a warm, fuzzy feeling inside due to my wonderful experience there. Will most definitely be going back very soon. P.S. The pork lumpias are FIRE!

I'm not Filipino but I was taken in by the Filipino club at my college and got acquainted with lots of wonderful dishes thru pot lucks and family meals during my time in the Bay Area -- I'm grateful for that. Sometimes I crave the warmth of sinigang when it's cold, especially when it's made with love by people like the aunties at Minas Restaurant. I came in a Sunday afternoon to pick up some dinner to go because I was sick of sitting at home cooking. Besides the sinigang, the lady behind the counter suggested a few fresh items for me to get including freshly fried turon and a meat stew type thing. They brightened my spirits with their familial energy and encouragement to nourish my body through food lol. If you're in the neighborhood come through!!

If you want to try authentic Filipino dishes and if you happen to be in this area, you should go here. I always go to this spot when I am craving for Filipino food. On this occasion, I came by to pick up some ordered food for our Christmas Eve celebration, we ordered a tray of crispy deep fried pork belly (Lechon kawali) and a tray of braised beef/beef stew (mechado). I came on the scheduled pick-up time and my orders were ready. Always expect a warm friendly welcome when you visit here, the staff and the owner are very pleasant and hospitable. If you haven't tried Filipino food yet, they are more than willing to explain to you each dish that looks good for you. The process on how you dine in this place is, go near the food display stand, point out to the staff which food you want, when you are done choosing get to your table and they will serve you the food. As expected, our ordered food tasted delicious, the Lechon kawali was very crispy and tasted very well with the accompanying pork liver sauce, the mechado was very flavorful and meat were very tender. Prices are a bit higher as compared to other places that offers the same dishes but the food quality is worth it. They keep the place neat and clean, staff and owners were wearing mask which is a plus for me. So if you live in the area and you want to try Filipino food, this is the place to go.

3.5 stars. Mina's Kitchenette is part Asian grocery store and part Filipino restaurant. The restaurant feels very homey with lots of plants and fairy lights. They sell mostly Asian snacks, some baked items, condiments, sauces, canned food, and juices. It's also a turo-turo (point-point) restaurant which is a very popular Filipino restaurant concept. It's similar to buffet display service where you point to the food you want; they plate it for you, and you bring it to your table. Here at Mina's, you'll find the usual Filipino dishes like Bulalo (pork shank soup), Kare Kare (ox tail stew), Dinuguan (pork blood stew), Kaldereta (tomato-based stew), Tinola (chicken soup), and Ginataan (coconut milk-based stew) just to name a few. We went by this past weekend to check them out and got 2 combo meals. The combo meal consists of rice with your choice of two small entrées. We got the chicken BBQ, Laing, Dinuguan and the Kaldereta. And for dessert we got Halo-halo. Our favorite was the Chicken BBQ. The meat was tender, and the sauce was both savory and sweet. The Dinuguan was also pretty good, but the sauce was somewhat watery. It was cooked well and there was no metallic taste from the pork blood. The beef in the Kaldereta was very fatty. Not sure if that was just bad luck or what. The Laing was okay. I wished it had more heat. Laing is usually a spicy dish, but this was not. And I think they used canned taro leaves for the ingredients because there was a slight chalky after taste. The Halo Halo was surprisingly very good. I wasn't a fan of the two canned cherries that was placed on top, but otherwise thought it was a yummy dessert. They were not stingy with the toppings which included, two scoops of flan, ube ice cream, pieces of boiled taro, sago, coconut strips, and gulaman (agar). The dishes over all were good and the portions were just right. I think for this neighborhood this is a good solid option to go to when looking for Filipino food. The staff is very friendly and welcoming, and prices are slightly lower than what you would find in Elmhurst's Little Manila.
